Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has offered a light-hearted apology for being late, joking that despite planning to leave early, he somehow ends up running behind schedule.
The veteran actor took to his blog and acknowledged that people might feel he is constantly making excuses for his tardiness. However, he said the irony is that whenever he plans to leave early, he ends up getting late.
“Phir der ho gayi; ama yaar, bahut ho gaya ye toh. Sab sochenge, bahana banata rehta hai pratidin. Lekin sachchai ye hai ki, jis din socha tha chhoot jaayenge jaldi, usi din der ho jaati hai. Toh shama prarthi hoon (sic),” Bachchan wrote.
He then reflected on the power of laughter, describing it as the best medicine even during difficult times.
“Laughter be the best medicine, and when in distress too… when you laugh at this distress, ‘distress’ feels he has failed in his job of putting you in one. So laugh… ‘distress’ will stress… Cool na,” he wrote, before jokingly adding, “Ok enough self praise… tomorrow another day another day another day another day (sic).”
Bachchan continues to host “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, the official Hindi adaptation of the British quiz show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”. Contestants answer multiple-choice questions and can use lifelines when unsure of an answer.
On the acting front, Bachchan was last seen in T. J. Gnanavel’s “Vettaiyan”. He is reportedly set to appear as Jatayu in Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming “Ramayana: Part 1”, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi and Sunny Deol.
He is also currently working on filmmaker Nag Ashwin’s sequel to “Kalki 2898 AD”, which features Prabhas and Kamal Haasan.
