Actor Rajniesh Duggall has opened up about what attracted him to the role of Physics Wallah educator Pankaj Sijariya in an upcoming biopic, saying he was immediately keen to be part of the project after reading its script.
During an Instagram Live interaction with Sijariya, Duggall revealed that the film was written by one of the educator’s students. Sharing his excitement about the project, the actor said he had completed reading the script and found it to be presented in an interesting manner.
“I have a very interesting surprise for you, Pankaj sir. One of your students has actually written the film and asked me if I would like to play your role in it. So I said 100% that if there is something like this, I would absolutely want to be a part of it,” Duggall said.
He added that he had finished reading the script that day and was impressed by the way the story had been written.
The upcoming biopic is being written and directed by James A., identified as one of Sijariya’s students. Duggall will portray Sijariya, with the educator’s journey being brought to the screen from the perspective of a former student. Actress Esha Talwar has also been cast as the female lead.
The film is currently in development, with further details expected to be announced soon.
Sijariya is an organic chemistry educator at Physics Wallah, the ed-tech platform founded by Alakh Pandey. He has developed a strong following among students for his energetic and distinctive teaching style.
