Mini Mathur Says Kabir Khan Was ‘Emotionally Invested’ in Her Winning Journey on ‘Alliance’

Mumbai, August 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Television host Mini Mathur has shared how filmmaker husband Kabir Khan became emotionally involved in her journey on the reality show Alliance, revealing that her victory surprised not only viewers but also her own family.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, Mini said her family initially doubted whether she would be able to cope without the comforts of everyday life, including her phone, loved ones and regular routine.

Reflecting on Kabir Khan’s reaction, she said she had never before witnessed him become so emotionally invested in any of her professional projects.

“I do not think anyone in my family expected me to survive without my phone, my people, my routine and everything I hold close. When I came back, I was amazed to see how invested Kabir had become in the show. There were endless family WhatsApp conversations discussing every move made by every contestant. I honestly do not remember another project in my career where Kabir was this emotionally invested,” she said.

Mini added that she believes her husband, children and the rest of her family are immensely proud of her achievement.

“I am sure he is extremely proud of me, just like my children and the rest of my family. To be honest, everything still feels surreal. I have only just stepped out of the house, and I had no idea what people outside were saying about me. This entire experience has given me a completely new lease on life,” she said.

Explaining her strategy on the show, Mini said she consciously avoided unnecessary conflicts and focused instead on performing well in the competitive challenges.

“I approached this game in a very different way. I never felt the need to scream, shout, play unnecessary politics or get involved in everyone’s business. My biggest strength was that I genuinely enjoyed the arena challenges. I am a very competitive person, and that is exactly why I came on this reality show,” she said.

She added that she preferred to play the game according to her own values, avoiding personal attacks and speaking up only when she felt it was necessary.

Mini Mathur emerged as the winner of the inaugural season of Prime Video’s Alliance, defeating Aly Goni and Ruhee Dosani in the grand finale.
