Megastar Amitabh Bachchan shared a light-hearted conversation with a contestant on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’, where he opened up about his work in Bhojpuri cinema and reacted to being recognised by a child as “KBC Uncle” rather than by his iconic film identity.
A promo from the upcoming episode of the quiz reality show showed a contestant expressing the immense admiration Bachchan enjoys among people in Bihar and requesting him to appear in more Bhojpuri films.
“Sir, Bihari aapko bahut maante hain, aap Bhojpuri filmo mein aayein na, Sir,” the contestant said.
Responding with his trademark humour, Bachchan revealed that he had already acted in Bhojpuri films. He told the contestant that his makeup artist Deepak had been associated with two Bhojpuri movies featuring him and jokingly asked why he had not watched them yet.
When the contestant mentioned the film ‘Ganga’ and requested Bachchan to appear in Bhojpuri cinema as well as on OTT platforms, the actor clarified with amusement, “Arrey, but that was a Bhojpuri film!”
The conversation took another humorous turn when the contestant shared that his young child knows Amitabh Bachchan only as “KBC Uncle” because of the widespread promotions of the show.
Recalling his child’s reaction to seeing ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ hoardings across Delhi, the contestant said his child would point at them and say, “Papa, KBC Uncle.”
The remark left Bachchan laughing, as he jokingly said that after working in films for over five decades, the child had managed to overshadow his entire film legacy.
The contestant defended his child, explaining that the youngster was too young to have watched Bachchan’s films.
Amitabh Bachchan has been hosting ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ for several seasons and remains one of the most recognised personalities in Indian entertainment, with a career spanning more than 55 years across Hindi cinema and television.
