Actor Sharman Joshi has completed filming for ‘Golmaal 5’, marking his return to the popular comedy franchise in the Rohit Shetty-directed fifth instalment.
Sharman, who reprises his role as Laxman, described his reunion with co-star Ajay Devgn as a memorable opportunity and said he thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
“Ajay sir ke saath Golmaal mein kaam karna mere liye bahut hi khoobsurat opportunity rahi hai, jo mujhe dobara mili hai. Maine is journey ko bahut enjoy kiya hai,” Sharman said, describing his return to the franchise as a “very beautiful opportunity”.
The actor also confirmed that while filming has been completed, post-production work on the film is currently underway.
“Humne film ki shooting complete kar li hai aur post-production ka kaam bhi chal raha hai. Bahut jald hum yeh film aap sabke saamne lekar aayenge,” he said.
‘Golmaal 5’ went on floors in March this year and features an ensemble cast led by Ajay Devgn, along with Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Sharman Joshi.
The film began production on filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s birthday. Announcing the start of filming, Shetty reflected on the franchise’s two-decade journey and credited audiences for its success.
“20 years ago, the first Golmaal was released, a film that changed my life. The credit goes to you, my audience,” Shetty said in a social media post.
He acknowledged that the franchise had entertained audiences over the years and occasionally disappointed them, but maintained that the team had remained sincere in its work.
Shetty said his team was embarking on another journey with ‘G5’, seeking the audience’s continued support and blessings.
With the shoot now complete and post-production underway, the latest chapter of the ‘Golmaal’ franchise is headed towards its next stage ahead of its theatrical release.
