Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met a delegation of Sikhs living in Sweden during his four-day visit to the country, discussing investment opportunities in Haryana, employment generation and concerns affecting Punjab’s youth, including the growing drug menace.
Saini described the interaction as “heartwarming” in a post on X, saying he was pleased to meet members of the Sikh community living thousands of miles away from home and receive their affection.
The discussions covered ways to promote investment in Haryana and create new employment opportunities, alongside issues concerning the future of young people in Punjab.
Members of the delegation expressed concern over drug abuse in Punjab. Responding to the issue, Saini said protecting young people from drugs and ensuring access to education, skill development and employment opportunities was a collective responsibility.
“Our youth are the future of our nation. Ensuring that they receive the right guidance and opportunities must remain our shared commitment,” he said.
The meeting formed part of Saini’s outreach to the overseas Sikh community during his Sweden visit. His delegation arrived in the country on Wednesday and was scheduled to remain there until October 17.
The interaction also provided an opportunity to discuss Haryana’s investment prospects with members of the diaspora while addressing social and employment challenges affecting Punjab’s younger generation.
