New Delhi, October 17, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other Opposition figures, including Prashant Bhushan and Arvind Kejriwal, over protests demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. Singh alleged that the Opposition’s actions had exposed its intentions and accused several parties of being part of what he called the “Tukde-Tukde gang”.

“Everyone’s true colours have been exposed, whether it is Prashant Kishor, Prashant Bhushan, Rahul Gandhi or Arvind Kejriwal,” Singh said.

Contrasting the Opposition’s actions with the Centre’s development agenda, the BJP leader said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had enhanced India’s global standing and was working towards the goal of Viksit Bharat by 2047.

Singh also named the Congress, Shiv Sena and the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) while making his allegations against Opposition parties.

His remarks came amid demonstrations seeking Kumar’s removal over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Opposition groups have claimed that the exercise has resulted in more than 13 crore Indians being left out of voter lists.

Commenting on the CJP, Singh questioned the group’s name and alleged that it was involved in activities aimed at harming India’s economy and creating unrest.

“This has now come to light. First, they have chosen a name like ‘Cockroach.’ Why drag the public into this? They should call themselves cockroaches,” he said.

Singh further alleged that foreign funding was being used to damage the country’s economy and create anarchy. He also criticised Rahul Gandhi for associating with the group and Neha Bora.

Separately, BJP MP Tarun Chugh accused Gandhi of attempting to undermine democratic institutions and challenge the constitutional system through political confrontation.

“Rahul Gandhi is attempting to run democracy through mob rule, intimidation and misdirection,” Chugh alleged, accusing the Congress leader of seeking to intimidate the Supreme Court, Parliament and the Election Commission.

Chugh also claimed that the Congress was using young people in political confrontations under the banner of protecting democracy. Referring to remarks about “regime change” along the lines of Bangladesh, he alleged that the Opposition was seeking power through unrest and confrontation rather than constitutional processes.

The allegations against Gandhi, the CJP and other Opposition figures were made by the BJP leaders amid continuing political protests over the electoral-roll revision and demands for action against the Chief Election Commissioner.
