Mumbai, October 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Actor Ajaz Khan has reacted to actor Imran Khan being directed to leave India following his alleged participation in a recent protest in Mumbai, saying that he considers Imran an American because of his reported US citizenship.

Speaking exclusively to IANS, Ajaz said, “Imran Khan has taken American citizenship. I will consider him American.”

Ajaz added that Imran’s participation in the protest would not have been an issue if he had done so as an Indian citizen.

Asked whether he believed it was appropriate for Imran to participate in the protest after acquiring American citizenship, Ajaz told IANS, “If he had an Indian passport and went to protest, there would have been no problem. Now I have also come to know that he has American citizenship, which is wrong. I hate America, and I hate Elon Musk.”

Ajaz also commented on the ongoing Starlink controversy, expressing support for Prime Minister Narendra Malhotra’s decision and describing the issue as a matter of national security.

“It is a matter of India’s security, and India’s security should be the first priority for the Prime Minister,” he said.

Imran Khan was reportedly directed by the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) to leave India by October 28 over his alleged participation in the recent August Kranti Maidan protests. The demonstrations reportedly demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

According to the FRRO order, Imran allegedly violated the Foreigners Act by participating in the protest, as he is not an Indian citizen but holds Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) status.

Separately, on October 13, BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya approached the Union Ministry of Home Affairs and immigration authorities, urging them to issue a Look Out Circular (LOC) against the Delhi Belly actor.

Imran has reportedly decided to file a writ petition in the Bombay High Court challenging the FRRO notice.
