Chandigarh, October 10, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon has said that the party will ensure minimum support price (MSP) for all crops in Punjab on the pattern of Haryana if it forms the government in the state.

Dhillon made the announcement during a meeting with the newly constituted state team of the BJP Kisan Morcha in Chandigarh on Saturday. He also guided the newly appointed office-bearers and urged them to work with dedication and commitment to strengthen the party.

Criticising the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, Dhillon alleged that its policies had pushed Punjab towards financial distress and that farmers’ concerns were being neglected. He said the prosperity of Punjab was closely linked to the well-being of its farming community.

Dhillon claimed that the AAP had promised before the Assembly elections to ensure MSP for all crops within five minutes of coming to power. However, he alleged that the government had failed to fulfil its commitments to farmers over the past four-and-a-half years.

Highlighting the initiatives of the Union government, Dhillon said the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was taking several steps for farmers’ welfare. He noted that wheat and paddy were being procured at MSP in Punjab and that farmers were receiving financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme.

He also referred to the subsidy on urea fertiliser, claiming that a bag costing around ₹2,800 was being made available to farmers for ₹266.

Citing Haryana as an example, Dhillon said the BJP government there was providing MSP for all crops. He promised that a BJP government in Punjab would extend MSP coverage to all crops, including fruits and vegetables, adding that the proposed policy would offer greater support to farmers and strengthen the state’s agricultural sector.

Dhillon also called on Kisan Morcha office-bearers to intensify their outreach and take the policies and welfare initiatives of the Modi government to villages and households across Punjab. He stressed the importance of informing farmers about the schemes and measures intended for their benefit.

During the meeting, the newly constituted Kisan Morcha state team, led by its state president Lakhwinder Singh, felicitated Dhillon and assured him that the organisation would work to strengthen the BJP at every level.
