Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, on Tuesday expressed confidence in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into his daughter’s death and said he would be satisfied only when those responsible are punished.
His remarks came a day after the CBI registered an FIR in connection with the death of Disha Salian, a former manager of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, following an order of the Bombay High Court.
Speaking to IANS, Satish Salian said he was “fully confident” in the CBI investigation. He alleged that several people, including Aaditya Thackeray, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, their bodyguards and others, were responsible for his daughter’s death and said they should face severe punishment. Actress Rhea Chakraborty was also named by him in the FIR, according to his statement.
Salian reiterated his allegation that his daughter’s death was not accidental but a premeditated murder. He also alleged that influential people had attempted to cover up the incident.
He named former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh and dismissed police officer Sachin Waze, alleging that they had “shielded the other accused”. These remain allegations made by Salian and have not been established as facts by a court.
Addressing the circumstances of his daughter’s death, Salian questioned the account that she had fallen from the 14th floor. “They say that Disha fell from the 14th floor, but looking at Disha’s body, does it seem like that?” he said, adding that evidence supporting his claims had been submitted.
On Sooraj Pancholi’s recent social media statement that he did not know Disha Salian, her father said the claim would be examined. “We will prove whether he knew her or not,” he said.
Recalling the events following his daughter’s death, Salian said the family was initially informed by police that something had happened at Disha’s party and that she had been taken to Malvani Police Station. He said they learned about her death only after reaching the police station.
Salian also criticised the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that was initially constituted to investigate the case, alleging that it failed to properly investigate and instead sought to protect those accused.
The CBI investigation is now underway following the registration of the FIR.
