Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Kewal Singh Dhillon spearheaded a comprehensive review of preparations for the upcoming ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatra’ across key historical locations in Fatehgarh Sahib and Talwandi Sabo.
During his visit to Fatehgarh Sahib, Dhillon was joined by BJP National General Secretary and Punjab in-charge Dr. Satish Poonia. The leaders inspected the rally site at the Old Grain Market, followed by an extensive coordination meeting with local party functionaries and cadres to ensure seamless execution. Subsequently, Dhillon travelled to Talwandi Sabo to review the rally arrangements at the local Grain Market and held similar consultations with party workers.
Addressing party workers and locals, Dhillon criticized the ruling administration, stating that narcotics have escalated into the state’s most pressing crisis. He alleged that despite pre-poll commitments by the Aam Aadmi Party to eradicate the menace within three months, the drug crisis has intensified, devastating the youth demographic while simultaneously fueling a rise in organized crime and deteriorating law and order.
Detailing the party’s roadmap, Dhillon explained that the BJP has committed to ridding Punjab of narcotics through four simultaneous ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab Yatras’ spanning various regions. These campaigns aim to mobilize community participation and amplify awareness regarding the devastating impacts of substance abuse.
Echoing national initiatives, Dhillon emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a drug-free India serves as the guiding principle for the state-wide crusade. Before launching the formal routes, delegations will pay obeisance and offer prayers at sacred historical sites, specifically Gurdwara Jyoti Saroop Sahib in Fatehgarh Sahib and Takht Sri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo.
Concluding his tour, the Punjab BJP President issued a fervent public appeal, urging citizens across the state to transcend political lines and actively participate in the collective movement to secure a ‘Nasha Mukt Punjab’.
