New Delhi, September 15, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal has accused the BJP of failing to curb drug trafficking in states under its rule, claiming that the bulk of drugs now entering Punjab are coming from BJP-ruled states rather than Pakistan.

Kejriwal said that when the AAP government came to power in Punjab in 2022, around 80 per cent of the drugs entering the state were coming from Pakistan. He claimed that action by the Punjab government, including the installation of anti-drone systems, had brought the cross-border supply under control, with Pakistan now accounting for about 20 per cent.

According to Kejriwal, the remaining 80 per cent is now coming from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, all ruled by the BJP.

In a post on X, Kejriwal particularly identified Gujarat’s Mundra Port as a major source of drugs entering Punjab. He said stopping drugs from entering India through the port was the responsibility of the BJP-led Central Government.

Kejriwal also questioned the BJP’s record in Gujarat, where he said the party had been in power for 30 years. He alleged that the BJP had either failed to stop the drug trade or did not want to stop it.

He further criticised the BJP for holding a march against drugs in Punjab, urging the party to first tackle drug trafficking in the states under its own governments.

“Learn from Punjab. Learn from the AAP and eliminate drugs from your own states as well,” Kejriwal said, while accusing the BJP of politicising the issue.

AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda also raised questions over the alleged flow of drugs from BJP-ruled states to Punjab. He asked why the supply was not being stopped and questioned whether the BJP was working with drug traffickers to promote drugs in the country.

The allegations come amid a continuing political debate over drug trafficking and the Punjab government’s measures to tackle the state’s drug problem.
