Television actress Jasmin Bhasin has dismissed speculation that she has broken up with actor Aly Goni, saying a recent personal post about her first tattoo was being wrongly interpreted as a cryptic message about her relationship.
The rumours surfaced after Bhasin shared a now-deleted post explaining the meaning behind her tattoo, which reads “I Am Enough.” In the post, she said the tattoo represented a promise to herself that she would not abandon her own identity in an attempt to gain love or acceptance from someone else.
The post led some social media users to speculate that Bhasin was hinting at trouble in her relationship with Goni.
Addressing the speculation, the Bigg Boss 14 contestant took to Instagram Stories and made it clear that the post was about her personal journey, not her relationship.
“Not everything in my life is a cryptic message about my relationship. Sometimes, a woman is simply talking about herself,” Bhasin wrote.
She also criticised media pages for allegedly presenting personal social media posts as relationship updates and using photographs of couples to attract attention.
“Surprising how for views and attention media pages twist and turn the posts and start using couple images to show it in a manner that will get them eyeballs. Chill guys!!” she added.
In her original post on Saturday, Bhasin reflected on a period when she felt compelled to change herself to gain acceptance.
“For the longest time, I kept trying to fit myself into little boxes, changing, shrinking, adjusting, becoming whoever I thought I needed to be to feel loved, accepted and to belong,” she wrote.
She said that, in the process, she felt she had lost touch with her own carefree, joyous, positive and sorted personality.
Bhasin further said that a realisation during a healing session changed her perspective: “I don’t have to become smaller to fit into someone else’s world.”
She described the tattoo as a reminder that she was already enough for herself.
