Kanpur, October 22, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
A 37-year-old man died under suspicious circumstances in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur after allegedly being struck by a car, assaulted and dragged on its roof for around 1.5 km, with his hands trapped in the vehicle’s window glass. His family has alleged murder, prompting police to register a case and launch an investigation.
The deceased, identified as Biru Singh Bhadauria, worked as a salesman for a food products company. According to his family, he was returning home after visiting a fair when a man identified as Mewalal arrived in a car with three other youths, including Rajveer.
The family alleged that the group stopped Bhadauria and assaulted him. When he tried to escape, the accused allegedly struck him with the car before placing him on its roof and driving at high speed.
Passersby reportedly alerted the police and Bhadauria’s family. He was taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Rejecting the possibility of a mere accident, the family alleged that an old rivalry was behind the incident and demanded strict action against those responsible. They also claimed that the episode had been captured by more than 12 CCTV cameras.
A video purportedly showing the incident has circulated on social media, and police are examining the footage as part of their investigation.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Abhishek Rahul said that complainant Pradeep Shukla submitted a written complaint at Hanumant Vihar police station on October 21. According to the complaint, Bhadauria died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle.
The ACP said the matter was under investigation and that further legal action would follow based on the evidence and facts established during the probe.
The allegations against the individuals named by the family have not yet been established by the investigation.
