Actor Jr NTR was discharged from KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, on Thursday after undergoing successful arthroscopic surgery for a shoulder injury sustained during the shoot of his upcoming film Dragon.
According to a hospital health bulletin, the surgery was performed on Wednesday by a team of orthopaedic surgeons led by R. A. Purnachandra Tejswi and Nithin Bejjanki. KIMS Hospitals Chairman and Managing Director Bhaskar Rao wished the actor a speedy recovery.
The hospital said Jr NTR is doing well and will now undergo a structured rehabilitation programme under medical supervision. Doctors expect him to make a full recovery within two to three months.
The actor had suffered the shoulder injury on July 27 while filming Dragon. Following consultations and follow-up care with specialists, doctors recommended arthroscopic surgery, saying the procedure would help facilitate a quicker and more complete recovery. He had earlier been advised to take complete rest for six to eight weeks.
Jr NTR thanked his doctors, family, friends and fans in a post on X after the surgery.
“The surgery was successful, and I’m doing well. My heartfelt gratitude to the amazing team of doctors at KIMS. To my friends, family and fans; your support gives me strength every single day. See you soon,” he wrote.
The injury led the Dragon team to postpone its Sri Lanka shooting schedule. Directed by Prashanth Neel, the film stars Jr NTR and Rukmini Vasanth in the lead, with Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.
Despite the disruption to the shooting schedule, the makers are maintaining the previously announced release date of June 11, 2027.
