YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday alleged that the District Selection Committee (DSC) paper leak and irregularities in recruitment under the sports quota have intensified resentment among the state’s youth, prompting widespread protests.
In a post on social media platform X, Jagan Mohan Reddy said rallies organised by the student and youth wings of the YSRCP across district headquarters witnessed significant public participation and reflected growing frustration among aspirants over the alleged irregularities in the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment process.
He claimed that protesters demanded the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him responsible for the alleged paper leak and recruitment anomalies. Jagan also called for a comprehensive Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry covering all aspects of the recruitment process, including the examination leak and appointments made under the sports quota.
The former Chief Minister accused the Chandrababu Naidu-led government of failing unemployed youth who had prepared extensively for teaching jobs. According to him, instead of ensuring a fair recruitment process, the government had undermined their aspirations through alleged administrative lapses and irregularities.
Jagan further alleged that despite what he described as available evidence, neither Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu nor Education Minister Nara Lokesh had addressed the allegations publicly. He claimed the government was attempting to divert attention from the issue and asserted that the YSRCP would continue to intensify its agitation in support of students and job aspirants.
Meanwhile, former minister Perni Venkatramaiah (Nani) and YSRCP spokesperson Putta Shivashankar also criticised the state government over the Mega DSC-2025 recruitment. Addressing separate press conferences, they reiterated the demand for Lokesh’s resignation and a CBI investigation into the entire recruitment process.
The party leaders also challenged the ruling government to a public debate on the issue. Nani said that if Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu participated, Jagan Mohan Reddy would represent the YSRCP, while he would take part if Education Minister Lokesh chose to attend.
