Shah Rukh Khan once found himself in an amusing situation when filmmaker Farah Khan asked him to reprimand Abhishek Bachchan and Vivaan Shah for distracting her during the shooting of Happy New Year.
Recalling the incident on Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2014, when the film’s cast appeared on the show to promote the movie, Shah Rukh narrated the episode to host Amitabh Bachchan.
The actor said Farah had complained that Abhishek and Vivaan were constantly chatting, remaining distracted and troubling her on the sets. She was particularly annoyed that the two actors kept taking her photographs and posting them on Twitter.
Farah had asked Shah Rukh to speak to them and make them behave. Initially, he tried to pacify her, saying that the two were young and would eventually settle down.
However, when Farah insisted, Shah Rukh decided to intervene.
He recalled that he approached the two actors with the intention of giving them a stern talking-to. But just as he was about to begin, he realised who their fathers were.
“Abhishek Bachchan’s father is Mr Amitabh Bachchan, and Vivaan’s father is Mr Naseeruddin Shah. Then it struck me that if their fathers could not teach them, what could I teach them?” Shah Rukh said, leaving the audience amused.
The anecdote offered a glimpse into the camaraderie among the cast members during the making of Happy New Year, which also featured Deepika Padukone, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Jackie Shroff.
