Pop superstar Mariah Carey has publicly expressed her interest in collaborating with rock musician Lenny Kravitz, inviting him to get in touch if he is open to working together.
During a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, Carey responded to a fan who suggested that she and Kravitz should record a duet.
“I love Lenny too… Lenny if you’re seeing this, call me,” the singer wrote, making her interest in a collaboration clear.
The All I Want for Christmas Is You singer also addressed another long-standing question from fans about her unreleased grunge album, Someone’s Ugly Daughter. Asked when the project might finally become available, Carey indicated that there was no immediate release announcement.
“I get asked this about once a week. My answer is… #notyet (this is a hint!),” she wrote.
Carey first revealed in 2020 that she had recorded the alternative rock project in 1995. In an interview with Zane Lowe that year, she said music industry executives had prevented her from releasing it under her own name.
She explained that the music industry was tightly controlled at the time and that her idea of releasing the album under an alias, allowing listeners to discover it independently, was also stopped.
The project was eventually released under the band name Chick, with Carey’s friend Clarissa Dane handling lead vocals.
Carey has previously indicated that she remains interested in making the original project available to fans, keeping anticipation alive around one of the lesser-known chapters of her musical career.
