Aryan Narola of Goa Aces JA Racing dominated the F4 Indian Championship with two victories, while Ruhaan Alva of Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru won the second Indian Racing League (IRL) race as the Indian Racing Festival concluded its two-day event at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) on Sunday.
Narola emerged as the standout performer in the F4 category, winning both races on the final day after South African racer Ntiyiso Mabunda of Speed Demons Delhi had claimed the opening contest on Saturday.
In Sunday’s first F4 race, Swarnav Das initially led the field before Narola overtook him on the second lap. Luviwe Sambudla, another South African driver representing Goa Aces JA Racing, also challenged for the lead but retired with engine trouble in the closing laps.
Narola held on to win, with Aris Kyriakou finishing second and Mabunda taking third place.
The Goa Aces driver maintained his momentum in the second race, leading from the start despite pressure from Arjun Chheda and Mabunda. Chheda finished second, while Mabunda secured another third-place finish.
Alva’s victory in the second IRL race came after an eventful contest. Shane Chanderia had initially moved ahead and led for several laps, but was forced to retire due to car trouble. Alva capitalised on the opening to take the win.
Mohamed Ryan of Hyderabad Blackbirds finished second, while Malaysian driver Alister Yoong of Speed Demons Delhi claimed third.
The festival featured three races on Sunday following Saturday’s opening contests.
In the first IRL race on Saturday, British driver Raoul Hyman of Goa Aces JA Racing secured victory in 27 minutes and 40.759 seconds. After initially trailing Emil Heyerdahl of Kichcha’s Kings Bengaluru, Hyman overtook him and maintained the lead until the finish.
Sai Shiva Sankaran of Kolkata Royal Tigers finished second in 27:55.806, narrowly ahead of teammate Jemma Moore, who clocked 27:56.070.
Mabunda had earlier won Saturday’s opening F4 race in 32:46.842 after a close contest with Sambudla. Narola briefly moved into the lead after starting third on the grid, but Mabunda fought back to reclaim the top position.
