BJP Has Become ‘Scrap Shop’ for Rejected Leaders, Says AAP MLA Kuldeep Dhaliwal

Chandigarh, November 1, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

AAP Punjab chief spokesperson and MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal on Sunday accused the BJP of inducting leaders rejected or expelled by other political parties, describing it as a “kabaad di dukaan” (scrap shop) that was relying on borrowed political faces to expand its presence in Punjab.

Addressing a press conference, Dhaliwal contrasted the BJP’s recruitment strategy with what he described as AAP’s record of taking action against its own leaders whenever they were accused of corruption or acting against Punjab’s interests.

He claimed that the Bhagwant Mann government had taken action against its own ministers and MLAs, while the BJP was welcoming leaders facing serious allegations, including cases involving firing at Punjab Police and rape.

“Those MLAs against whom serious allegations had surfaced, who were facing cases such as firing at the police, or who had violated party discipline, had already been suspended by the party and shown the door,” Dhaliwal said.

He questioned the BJP’s decision to induct such individuals, alleging that some of the leaders it was bringing into the party had been rejected by other political outfits.

Dhaliwal also claimed that the BJP lacked an independent support base and leadership in Punjab, alleging that even its state president and office-bearers had been brought in from outside.

“The BJP in Punjab is no longer a political party but has become a ‘kabaad di dukaan’,” he said, accusing it of collecting leaders from the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal and AAP in an attempt to strengthen its position.

Targeting the BJP’s political activities in the state, Dhaliwal described its anti-drug campaign as a failure and Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Jalandhar rally as a “super flop”.

He said the Opposition’s response to AAP’s recently released list of 40 candidates reflected its political anxiety, while asserting that the people of Punjab were backing the Mann government’s work.

Dhaliwal maintained that AAP would return to power in the 2027 Assembly elections with a massive majority under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership.
