Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday spoke to the brother of C Vikram Singh, a guitarist from Manipur who was allegedly beaten to death outside his Delhi residence, and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
According to information shared by Gandhi’s office, he expressed solidarity with the family and assured them that their demand for justice would not go unheard.
Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera also shared details of the conversation on X, saying Gandhi listened to the family’s concerns and reiterated his support for their pursuit of justice.
Vikram Singh was allegedly attacked late on Sunday night after he objected to a group of men who were reportedly making noise and drinking outside his home. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital by his son, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.
Delhi Police have arrested seven men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the case.
The incident has left the victim’s family devastated, with relatives seeking a thorough investigation and accountability.
Gandhi’s interaction with the family came a day after the killing. During the conversation, he is understood to have heard their concerns and assured them of his support.
