Kota Child Molestation Case: Police Examine DNA Samples, CCTV Footage to Identify Suspect

Jaipur, September 9, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Police in Rajasthan’s Kota are examining DNA samples, forensic evidence and CCTV footage as part of an investigation into the alleged sexual abuse of a three-year-old girl, with efforts underway to identify the suspected accused.

The case came to light after the child fell ill and her family took her to a paediatrician for medical examination. The doctor reportedly noticed pain and swelling around her waist and genital area and suspected possible sexual assault.

The doctor informed the family, following which they approached police. A case has since been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and other applicable provisions.

Given the child’s young age, investigators said she has been unable to clearly describe the circumstances of the alleged incident. Police are therefore relying on medical findings, forensic evidence, DNA analysis and CCTV footage to establish what happened and identify the person responsible.

Kota City Superintendent of Police Tejaswini Gautam said the case had been registered under the POCSO Act and other relevant provisions. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Mukesh Sankhla, Additional Superintendent of Police of the Women’s Harassment Investigation Cell.

According to the family, the child generally remains at home and attends only a play school near their residence. Based on this information, police have collected DNA samples from certain male staff members of the school and other relevant individuals.

A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has also examined the relevant location and collected evidence. Investigators are analysing the forensic material and DNA samples to determine whether they match any person under suspicion.

Police are simultaneously reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to establish the child’s movements and identify individuals who may have come into contact with her.

The investigation remains underway, and police have not yet confirmed the identity of the accused. Further details are expected after the forensic and other evidence is analysed.
