Actress Disha Patani has expressed gratitude for being part of Awarapan 2, sharing a heartfelt note about her experience of working on the action-drama sequel and thanking the film’s team and audiences for their support.
Patani, who starred opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a carousel featuring glimpses of her character and behind-the-scenes moments from the sets. The pictures also include candid moments with Hashmi and photographs with members of the film’s team.
“Grateful to connect with such amazing beautiful souls in this journey of telling a story that we all will cherish forever. Truly an honour to be part of this team and grateful for all the love that’s been received by the film blessed #awarapan2,” she wrote.
In Awarapan 2, Hashmi reprised his role as Shivam Pandit, while Patani played the female lead, Zara Singh. Her character is portrayed as a trained cello player who comes from a gangster family.
The film was released theatrically on August 14, 2026.
Hashmi recently reflected on the return of the Awarapan franchise, describing the sequel as a “rarest-of-rare phenomenon” and an “unprecedented feat”. He recalled that the original film had struggled to find its audience when it was released nearly two decades ago.
In his note, Hashmi said Awarapan 2 was among the films he was genuinely proud to be associated with and described its return as an opportunity to rewrite the franchise’s box-office history.
He also described the sequel as an emotionally charged action musical with a large visual scale and diverse, timeless music, while highlighting Vishesh, the creator of the Awarapan world, as being at the heart of the project.
