Singer-songwriter Darshan Raval has released his new four-track EP, ‘The Everafter’, featuring the heartbreak song ‘Sirf Tum’, which holds a special place in his heart because of his wife’s fondness for it.
Darshan, who recently celebrated his birthday, said his wife generally does not enjoy sad songs but has developed a particular liking for this track.
“‘Sirf Tum’ is really special to me, especially because my wife, who usually doesn’t like sad songs, loves this one,” the singer said.
The song continues the love story of Dan and Niyati, introduced in Darshan’s earlier track ‘Naal Naal Ve’. In the music video, Darshan plays Dan, a struggling musician who wakes up to find Niyati, portrayed by actress Barkha Singh, missing. The people around him insist that she never existed.
After experiencing what appears to be a perfect romance with Niyati in an alternate reality, Dan channels his heartbreak into music in the hope of finding his way back to her. His loyal dog, Brutus, also returns in the video.
The EP explores different shades of romance and life through four tracks. ‘Naal Naal Ve’ celebrates the joy of finding love, while ‘Sirf Tum’ delves into heartbreak. ‘Jaadu’ is dedicated to his fans, whom he affectionately calls his ‘Blue Family’, and ‘Karwaan’ reflects on life’s journey.
Darshan said the project showcases different emotional sides of romance and connects with his upcoming ‘Love Letters’ tour. He described ‘Karwaan’ as a song suited to listening while travelling through the mountains and enjoying nature.
The singer has continued his tradition of releasing music around his birthday, bringing together love, loss, hope and life’s experiences in ‘The Everafter’.
