Chandigarh, October 23, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) received a boost in Moga as senior Shiromani Akali Dal leader and advocate Ramesh Grover joined the party. Punjab BJP President Kewal Singh Dhillon welcomed him into the party, saying his induction would strengthen the BJP in Moga and surrounding areas. Moga district president Harjot Kamal was also present on the occasion.
Before joining the Shiromani Akali Dal, Grover had served as the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) district president and Faridkot Zone in-charge of its Legal Cell. He also contested the 2017 Punjab Assembly election from Moga as an AAP candidate. In addition, he has served multiple terms as president of the Bar Council.
Welcoming Grover, Dhillon said he had earned recognition in the legal profession, social work and political life through his longstanding public engagement. His experience and strong connections with people would benefit the party, he added.
Dhillon said people from different walks of life were joining the BJP, inspired by its policies and the progress achieved by India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. He described the developments as a reflection of growing public confidence in the party and its commitment to public welfare.
He said the BJP accorded respect and recognition to every leader and worker joining its ranks, adding that the party’s primary objective was to ensure Punjab’s progress, prosperity and the welfare of its people.
Expressing confidence in Grover’s role, Dhillon said he would help take the party’s policies to the public and contribute to the state’s development.
Dhillon further asserted that the BJP would form a majority government in Punjab in 2027 with the continued support and trust of the people.
