Chandigarh, October 23, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
Special camps will be organised at all polling booths across Punjab on October 24 to help voters verify their details in the electoral rolls and access voter registration services, Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Anindita Mitra said on Friday.
The camps will be held from 3 pm to 5 pm in accordance with the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI). They aim to help electors check their names in the final electoral roll published on October 12, 2026, under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise, and submit applications for fresh enrolment or correction of electoral details.
Mitra said citizens attaining the age of 18 years on or before January 1, 2027, would be eligible to apply for inclusion in the electoral roll during the forthcoming Special Summary Revision (SSR). Eligible applicants can submit Form 6 to register as voters.
Sharing the schedule for the SSR, the Chief Electoral Officer said the draft electoral roll would be published on November 12, 2026. The period for filing claims and objections would run from November 12 to December 11, 2026, while the final electoral roll would be published on January 4, 2027.
Mitra appealed to voters across Punjab to make full use of the special camps to verify their names and personal details in the final electoral roll and avail themselves of the available electoral services.
She particularly urged young citizens who would turn 18 by January 1, 2027, to visit their respective polling booths during the camps and apply for voter registration.
