The 79th Sant Nirankari Samagam began in Samalkha, Haryana, on October 23, with more than 10 lakh devotees expected to attend the four-day spiritual gathering, which will conclude on October 26.
Held in the presence of Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj, this year’s Samagam is centred on the theme ‘Jagriti (Awakening)’, focusing on humanity, compassion, mutual love and selfless service.
The gathering aims to encourage devotees to reflect on the purpose of human life, rise above prejudice and incorporate the values of service and hospitality into their everyday conduct.
Extensive arrangements have been made across the 650-acre venue to accommodate the expected turnout. Joginder Sukhija, Secretary of the Sant Nirankari Mission, said four large community kitchen halls, four cooking areas and six food distribution zones had been established to provide meals to devotees.
The venue also has 22 toilet blocks, drinking water stations and medical facilities. More than 1 lakh volunteers, known as sevadars, have been deployed to assist visitors and coordinate arrangements throughout the programme.
Special provisions have been made for medical emergencies, fire safety and crowd management. According to Sukhija, the government has provided 25 ambulances, while the Mission has deployed another 10, including five specialised life-saving ambulances. Fourteen fire tenders have also been stationed at different locations across the venue.
The arrangements are intended to ensure the safety and convenience of devotees during the four-day event.
The Samagam is expected to attract followers from across India and overseas, bringing together the Sant Nirankari Mission community for spiritual discourse, collective participation and reflection on the year’s central message of awakening.
