Nandika, a Class XI student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Patiala, has taken her first step into the literary world with the publication of her debut poetry collection, Things That Make Life Worth Remembering: A Book of Poetry, now available worldwide on Amazon.
The collection features 23 poems exploring life’s cherished memories, dreams, struggles, gratitude and the value of human relationships. Through her writing, Nandika seeks to capture the everyday experiences and emotions that give life meaning and make certain moments worth remembering.
Currently pursuing non-medical studies in Class XI, Nandika has developed her interest in writing despite having no literary background in her family. Her observations of everyday life and personal reflections have helped shape her poetic expression.
The young poet has dedicated the 23 poems to her family members, teachers and others who have inspired her along the way. Digraj Sir of Next Topper, whom the book identifies as a source of inspiration for students, is also acknowledged through the dedication. Dr. Kuldeep Singh played an important role in guiding and encouraging Nandika throughout the process of bringing her first book to publication.
Nandika’s father, Engineer Gagan Chopra, serves as Deputy Chief Engineer/IT at Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), while her mother, Vandana, is a Chemistry Lecturer at Government Senior Secondary School, Bhadson.
For Nandika’s family, the publication represents more than an achievement in creative writing. They believe the collection carries an encouraging message for young people, emphasising the importance of pursuing dreams, appreciating relationships and remaining patient while working towards positive outcomes.
The family expressed hope that readers, particularly members of the younger generation, would find inspiration in the poems and develop a deeper appreciation for the people and experiences that shape their lives.
