The drama on ‘Bigg Boss 20’ has begun just a day after the reality show’s premiere, with contestant Love Gill opening up about her experience of being body-shamed while growing up.
In a conversation with fellow contestant Aman Gandhi, Love spoke about the difficulties she faced because of comments about her appearance. Aman also shared that he had experienced body-shaming for being too thin.
“When I was slightly overweight, people would comment on my body. Then I lost weight, but even after that people had something to say,” Love said during the show.
She added that people would subsequently tell her that she looked too thin or question whether she was eating enough.
“It felt like no matter what I did, people had an opinion about how I looked,” she said.
Love is a Punjabi actress and model who has worked in music videos, television and films. She appeared in a popular music video by Punjabi singer Karan Aujla in 2019 before making her television debut with the Punjabi show ‘Tu Patang Main Dor’, in which she played Zarina.
She later entered Punjabi cinema with ‘Kuriyan Jawan Bapu Pareshaan’ in 2021 and went on to feature in films including ‘Haterz’, ‘Kulche Chole’, ‘Gadar 1947: Ikk Vichhoda’ and ‘Vekhi Ja Chhedi Na’.
‘Bigg Boss’ is the Indian adaptation of the Dutch reality format ‘Big Brother’ and airs on Colors TV and JioHotstar.
The 20th season premiered on September 6 with 16 celebrity contestants, including MC Mary Kom, Kanika Mann, Mahhi Vij, Kushal Tanwar, Aman Gandhi, Isha Rikhi, Arishfa Khan, Qazi Touqeer, Asif Khan, Aamrapali Dubey, Rhiti Tiwari, Uditi Singh, Tanmay Singh aka ScoutOP, Rohed Khan, Yung DSA and Love Gill.
