India’s men’s kabaddi team stormed into the final of the Commonwealth Kabaddi Championship 2026 with a commanding 56-27 victory over Bangladesh in the semi-final at the Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad on Friday.
The 29-point victory secured India’s place in the men’s title clash, ensuring that the country will have representation in both the men’s and women’s finals. The Indian women’s team had already qualified for the final earlier in the tournament.
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi attended the men’s semi-final and encouraged the Indian players during the contest.
Following the match, Sanghavi presented medals and a trophy to members of the Bangladesh team and its coaching staff in recognition of their participation. The visiting side’s campaign came to an end with the semi-final defeat.
India’s emphatic performance against Bangladesh further strengthened the country’s campaign in the championship, which has brought together teams competing in the Commonwealth kabaddi tournament.
With both Indian teams reaching the final, the hosts will now look to convert their double qualification into championship titles when the concluding matches take place in Ahmedabad.
