Mumbai Police have arrested six men within 24 hours of receiving a complaint in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a 15-year-old girl in the Powai area, officials said on Saturday.
The alleged assault took place between October 27 and 28. According to police, the main accused and four associates lured the minor to an isolated plot behind a bakery on Saki Vihar Road, where they allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Police said the accused subsequently threatened the girl, warning that they would circulate her photographs on social media if she informed her family or approached the authorities.
In a separate incident linked to the case, another accused allegedly intercepted the girl near a pipeline in Powai and molested and sexually harassed her.
