Panchkula, October 31, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

A six-year-old girl was allegedly brutally assaulted by an eight-year-old Class 3 student inside a government school in Haryana’s Panchkula, leaving her unconscious and triggering serious questions about campus security and supervision.

The incident, which reportedly took place between 3 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., came to light after the girl went missing at the time of dispersal. CCTV footage from the classroom has reportedly captured the assault and subsequently circulated widely.

The girl’s family alleged that the accused student lured her to the school’s first floor by telling her that her father had called for her. According to the family, she was first struck with a stone and then attacked with a flower pot and a brick.

Her uncle, Faisal, said the family began searching for the child after the auto driver assigned to pick her up found that she was missing. He alleged that the same boy accused of assaulting her eventually directed the family to the room where she was lying unconscious.

“When my brother went upstairs and saw her, he fainted. There was blood everywhere in the room,” Faisal told IANS, describing the condition in which the child was found.

The family has questioned how the incident could have gone unnoticed despite CCTV cameras being installed in the school, including cameras monitored from the principal’s office.

Faisal alleged that some teachers had been assigned government duties elsewhere, forcing multiple classes to be combined under one teacher. He also claimed that the principal had left after completing duty hours shortly before the incident.

The family believes that the absence of staff to monitor the CCTV feed may have prevented timely intervention. It has demanded accountability from the school management and questioned the arrangements for supervising students.

The incident has raised concerns over child safety and the effectiveness of security monitoring in government schools.
