Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday inaugurated the Uttar Pradesh BJP’s state executive committee meeting in Lucknow, with the party set to review its organisational preparedness and discuss its strategy for the 2027 Assembly elections.
The meeting is being held at the auditorium of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University. Shah is expected to guide party leaders and workers on strengthening the organisation, expanding grassroots outreach and preparing the electoral campaign.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, state BJP president Pankaj Chaudhary, State General Secretary (Organisation) Dharampal Singh, state in-charge Vinod Tawde and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and Brajesh Pathak are among those attending.
The proceedings began with the ceremonial lighting of a lamp. The meeting is the first state executive committee gathering under the new organisational structure led by Chaudhary.
Chaudhary said Shah’s guidance would benefit the organisation and help party workers move forward with renewed energy towards the 2027 electoral goals.
Maurya also highlighted the significance of the meeting under the new state leadership, while Pathak said Shah’s address would energise the party’s organisational machinery.
Taking aim at Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, Pathak asserted that the people of Uttar Pradesh were with the BJP and expressed confidence that the party would secure a strong majority in the 2027 Assembly elections.
The meeting is expected to examine the BJP’s organisational position, its outreach among voters and its approach towards the Samajwadi Party and other Opposition parties. Chief Minister Adityanath is scheduled to address the concluding session.
Shah arrived at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport earlier in the day, where he was received by Adityanath, Chaudhary and the two Deputy Chief Ministers.
