Hollywood actor Jennifer Lawrence has spoken about confronting film crew members who were not authorised to be present during a nude scene, saying she took a firm stand to protect performers’ privacy and establish clear boundaries on film sets.
Speaking on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, the 36-year-old actor said she had objected strongly when unauthorised crew members were present while she was filming a nude scene.
“I came down hard on it,” Lawrence said, explaining that her concern extended beyond her own experience to younger and less-established actors who might feel pressured to remain silent.
She said an 18-year-old newcomer could be forced to choose between speaking up and risking a reputation for being difficult, or allowing people she was uncomfortable with to watch her undress. Lawrence said it was important to explain to those involved why the situation was unacceptable.
The actor acknowledged that being flexible is part of working in films, citing her dramatic hairstyle transformation for ‘Die My Love’. She has previously said she wanted to give the film’s director, Lynne Ramsay, complete artistic freedom.
During the podcast, Lawrence also discussed her return to ‘The Hunger Games’ franchise more than a decade after the original films. She spoke warmly about reuniting with Josh Hutcherson, who played Peeta, and Woody Harrelson, who portrayed their mentor Haymitch.
Describing the reunion as emotional, Lawrence said she and Hutcherson were rarely apart during the experience, adding that the familiar faces behind the camera made it particularly special.
“It was so crazy because it was the same crew,” she said, recalling the camera team and assistant director with whom she had worked repeatedly.
