Lucknow, October 27, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
A day after three members of a family were shot dead in Lucknow’s Saadatganj area, the wife of one of the victims on Tuesday demanded the death penalty for the accused and called for the prime suspect to be killed in a police encounter.
Usha Tiwari, wife of Shivaji Tiwari, expressed anguish over the killings and accused the suspects of destroying her family. She also demanded the demolition of the accused’s house and severe action against those allegedly involved.
The incident triggered tension in the locality on Tuesday when people entered the house of the accused, prompting police personnel to intervene and try to pacify the crowd.
Sumedha Tiwari, daughter of another victim, Shivendra Tiwari, urged the Uttar Pradesh government to provide financial assistance of ₹1 crore each to the two affected families. She also sought a government job for her mother, Ruchi, the wife of Shivendra.
The three victims were identified as Shivaji Tiwari, 62, a retired stenographer in the power department and former district-level functionary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; his younger brother Shivendra Tiwari, 55; and Shivaji’s son Suyash Tiwari, 30.
Police said the men were taken to the trauma centre at King George’s Medical University after the shooting on Monday morning, but doctors declared them dead on arrival.
Preliminary information suggests the killings followed a longstanding neighbourhood dispute over parking a vehicle beneath a banyan tree and reconstructing a platform around it in Naubasta Brahmani Tola.
Police have registered an FIR against eight people. The prime accused, Rishabh Shukla, has been arrested, while the remaining seven accused have been detained, according to the report. A pistol and empty cartridges were recovered from the scene, and preliminary information indicates that more than 12 rounds were fired.
The killings have also devastated the family ahead of Suyash’s scheduled wedding on December 5.
