Mohali, October 24, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed a chargesheet against six accused in connection with the April 27, 2026, blast on the railway line between Punjab’s Shambhu and Rajpura stations, which resulted in the death of an alleged Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) operative.
The case was registered as RC-28/2026/NIA/DLI after the explosion killed Jagroop Singh, who, according to the NIA, was assembling explosives at the time of the incident.
The chargesheet was filed before the NIA Special Court in Mohali against Gurjinder Singh alias Beant Baba, Satnam Singh, Pardeep Singh alias Khalsa, Kulvinder Singh alias Bagga, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi and Manjeet Singh.
According to the agency, the accused have been charged under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Arms Act, the Explosive Substances Act, the Railways Act, the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The NIA alleged that the accused were part of a conspiracy that led to the explosion on the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd (DFCCIL) railway line at kilometre 1174-5 between Shambhu and Rajpura stations on April 27.
The agency said the alleged conspiracy was intended to advance the activities of the proscribed terrorist organisation Khalistan Zindabad Force, disrupt communal harmony and destabilise the law and order situation in Punjab.
The NIA further alleged that the network was involved in raising funds for terrorist activities, procuring explosives, arms and ammunition, spreading fear among the public and threatening the country’s integrity, security and sovereignty.
During the investigation, the agency found that the arrested accused, along with deceased accused Jagroop Singh, were allegedly part of a conspiracy orchestrated by Pakistan-based Ranjeet Singh alias Neeta, who is affiliated with the KZF and has been designated an individual terrorist.
According to the NIA, the conspiracy was aimed at promoting Khalistani ideology and advancing the objectives of the banned organisation.
The chargesheet marks a further step in the investigation into the railway blast, with the allegations against the six accused to be examined through the judicial process.
