Riyadh, October 16, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Two Indian nationals injured in the October 10 attack on Riyadh airport remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), while another is being treated in the High Dependency Unit (HDU), the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said on Friday.

In a fresh advisory, the Embassy said three other injured Indian nationals were being treated in a general ward.

The advisory also stated that Riyadh’s international airport remained closed to flight operations, while airports in Dammam, Jeddah and Medina continued to operate, although some disruptions persisted.

“In view of the prevailing situation, Indian nationals should continue following instructions by local authorities, stay indoors in case of aerial attack, and refrain from filming, publishing, or sharing any information, photos, or videos related to the ongoing events,” the advisory stated.

According to the Embassy, Indian carriers have extended the suspension of flights to and from Saudi Arabia. Air India and Air India Express have suspended operations on all routes until October 20, while IndiGo has extended its suspension until October 24.

Akasa Air has suspended its flights to Riyadh until October 24 and to Jeddah until October 21.

Meanwhile, Saudia continues to operate scheduled flights to Indian destinations from Dammam, Jeddah and Medina. Flynas is operating scheduled flights on the Dammam-Lucknow sector, while Flyadeal has announced Dammam-Mumbai flights for October 17 and 18, the Embassy said.

Indian nationals requiring urgent departure may consider travelling through Bahrain, Kuwait or Qatar, subject to obtaining the necessary visas, the Embassy advised.

The advisory also urged Indians planning to travel to Saudi Arabia, including for Umrah, to take into account the ongoing airport disruptions and the possibility of flight cancellations, which could result in extended stays.

On Thursday, India’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Vipul, addressed the Indian community in a video message following the recent attacks. He said India had condemned the attacks on civilian facilities and infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.

The Ambassador said the Embassy had established helplines for Umrah pilgrims who had faced inconvenience and urged those planning to travel from India to consider the possibility of disruptions.

“In the current situation, all of us have to remain calm and alert. Especially in case of an aerial attack, we have to remain indoors,” Vipul said.

He also warned that sharing photographs or videos of the attacks could violate Saudi law and lead to legal difficulties.
