IndiGo has revised charges for several passenger services on domestic flights, increasing fees for infant travel, excess baggage, unaccompanied minors, priority services and travel certificates.
Under the revised charges, the fee for an infant travelling with an accompanying adult has been increased to Rs 3,000 from Rs 2,000.
The revised infant fee applies to children aged more than three days and up to two years. Under IndiGo’s travel rules, infants cannot occupy a separate seat and must travel on the lap of an accompanying adult.
Only one infant is permitted per adult passenger. The applicable fee is payable at the time of booking, while passengers may be required to carry valid proof of the child’s age during travel.
The airline has also raised its excess baggage charge on domestic flights to Rs 800 per kg from Rs 700 per kg.
Passengers carrying luggage beyond their permitted baggage allowance will therefore pay an additional Rs 100 for every excess kilogram.
The fee for IndiGo’s unaccompanied minor service has also been increased, rising to Rs 5,999 from Rs 5,000. The service is available to eligible children travelling without an accompanying adult and remains subject to the airline’s applicable rules and conditions.
Charges for priority check-in and priority boarding have likewise been revised. The combined priority service fee now stands at Rs 650, compared with Rs 450 earlier, representing an increase of Rs 200.
IndiGo has also increased its travel certificate fee from Rs 200 to Rs 300.
The latest revisions mean passengers travelling on domestic IndiGo flights will pay more for several optional and passenger-related services, even where the basic airfare remains unchanged.
