Three-time champions India will face arch-rivals Pakistan on September 5 in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 after the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) announced the schedule for the continental tournament on Thursday.
The tournament will be held in Dubai from August 28 to September 13, with eight teams competing for the title. India, the most successful team in the history of the competition, have been placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, Thailand and Hong Kong, China.
Led by Harmanpreet Kaur, India will begin their campaign against Thailand on August 30 before taking on Hong Kong, China on September 3. Their much-awaited group-stage encounter against Pakistan is scheduled for September 5.
Group B features Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia and hosts United Arab Emirates.
The tournament will open on August 28, with Thailand facing Hong Kong, China at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Sri Lanka will start their campaign against UAE on August 29, while Bangladesh will take on Indonesia in their opening match on August 31.
Pakistan will play their remaining league matches against Thailand on September 1 and Hong Kong, China on September 7.
Defending champions Sri Lanka, who won the previous edition in 2025, will face Indonesia on September 2 and Bangladesh on September 6 after their opening fixture against UAE. Bangladesh will complete their group-stage schedule against UAE on September 8, while Indonesia will meet UAE on September 4.
The top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stage. The first semifinal will be played on September 10, followed by the second semifinal on September 11.
The tournament final will take place on September 13, with the winners of the two semifinals battling for the continental title.
All 15 matches, including the semifinals and final, will be played under lights at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
