Jharkhand Students Name 11-Member Delegation for Talks with Government Over Recruitment Exam Row

Ranchi, August 6, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Students protesting over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations in Jharkhand on Thursday announced an 11-member delegation to represent them in proposed talks with the state government.

The protesters have been staging a sit-in at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium in Ranchi for the past 13 days, demanding action over alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) and other agencies.

The delegation comprises eight student representatives, two journalists, and one advocate. However, the protesters clarified that only the student representatives would present their demands during the discussions, while the journalists and advocate would participate solely as observers, guardians and advisors.

The student representatives include Ravindra Paswan, Piyush Kumar Singh, Ravindra Kumar Ravi, Rajesh Prasad, Neetu Kujur, Kartik Soren, Sandeep Kumar and Shalu Singh.

The delegation also includes journalists Shambhunath Choudhary and Vikas Verma, along with advocate Ajit Kumar.

According to the protesting students, the journalists will not carry microphones, cameras, recording devices or any broadcasting equipment into the meeting venue. The arrangement, they said, is intended to ensure that the discussions remain peaceful, orderly and transparent.

The students are demanding a CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, action against those found responsible, and greater transparency in the state’s recruitment process.

The announcement of the delegation follows the Jharkhand government’s offer to hold discussions with the agitating students. It is the first time the protesters have formally designated representatives for negotiations.

The outcome of the proposed talks is expected to play a key role in determining the future course of the ongoing agitation.
