Sanaa, October 11, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)

Yemen’s government forces have claimed that more than 1,150 Houthi fighters were “neutralised” in over 1,900 strikes carried out across multiple fronts in the past 24 hours, as fighting between the two sides intensified.

Majed al-Nuzaili, spokesperson for the government forces, said in a statement posted on social media platform X on Saturday, local time, that the operations targeted Houthi weapons depots, military camps, fortifications, artillery positions, troop concentrations and supply lines.

The strikes were conducted across eastern, western and southwestern fronts and also targeted what the spokesperson described as “high-value military targets” deeper inside Houthi-controlled areas.

Al-Nuzaili further claimed that more than 180 military and logistical vehicles had been destroyed or damaged. He said the operations were aimed at weakening the Houthis’ ability to reinforce and sustain their frontline positions.

The figures could not be independently verified, according to Xinhua news agency. The Houthis had not commented on the claims at the time of reporting.

The spokesperson said government forces were continuing their ground advance, recapturing positions and consolidating their gains.

The Yemeni government launched a large-scale offensive on Monday to retake territory held by the Houthis. Some of the fiercest fighting has been reported around the strategically important Bab al-Mandeb Strait in southwestern Yemen.

Saudi air operations in support of Yemen’s government forces have also intensified, while the Houthis have stepped up missile and drone attacks against targets inside Saudi Arabia. These reportedly include King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi capital.

Yemen has been embroiled in conflict since late 2014, when the Houthis seized Sanaa and large parts of the country’s north. A Saudi-led coalition intervened in 2015 in support of the internationally recognised Yemeni government, which is now based in the southern port city of Aden.
