The upcoming four-day red-ball match between India A and Australia A women has been shifted from Dharamshala to Mohali because of prolonged rainfall and poor outfield conditions in the Himachal Pradesh hill station, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced on Wednesday.
The match will be played from September 29 to October 2, as originally scheduled, but the venue has been changed from the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala to the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali.
BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia said the decision was necessitated by the impact of continuous rainfall on the outfield and prevailing ground conditions in Dharamshala.
“The venue change has been necessitated due to the impact of prolonged rainfall in Dharamshala on the outfield and the prevailing ground conditions,” Saikia said in a statement.
The red-ball fixture will conclude Australia A women’s multi-format tour of India, which began on September 12 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh.
Australia A won the three-match T20 series 3-0, defeating India A by six wickets, 30 runs and seven runs in the respective matches.
The 50-over leg of the tour began at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali on September 20, with India A responding with a four-wicket victory in the opening match.
The second 50-over game was underway on Wednesday, with India A reaching 338/6, powered by captain Yastika Bhatia’s 112 and half-centuries from Tejal Hasabnis and Anushka Sharma, who both scored 60.
The third 50-over match is scheduled for September 25, after which the teams will turn their attention to the four-day red-ball fixture.
