The Punjab Government on Tuesday ordered the transfer and posting of seven IAS officers with immediate effect in a significant administrative reshuffle affecting key departments including Health, Local Government, Industries, Higher Education and Medical Education.
The orders were issued by the Department of Personnel under the directions of the Governor of Punjab.
According to the official orders, 2007-batch IAS officer Manjit Singh Brar, who was serving as Administrative Secretary, Local Government, has been appointed Secretary, Medical Education and Research. He replaces Ghanshyam Thori, who was holding the additional charge of the department.
Ghanshyam Thori, a 2010-batch IAS officer, presently serving as Secretary, Health and Family Welfare and Mission Director, National Health Mission (NHM), Punjab, has now been posted as Administrative Secretary, Local Government in place of Manjit Singh Brar. He has also been relieved of the additional charge of Secretary, Medical Education and Research.
Kulwant Singh, IAS (2012 batch), who was serving as Director, Local Government, Punjab, has been transferred as Director, Higher Education, Punjab. He replaces Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar.
Sakshi Sawhney, IAS (2014 batch), presently Chief Administrator, Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA), has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Health and Family Welfare for posting as Mission Director, National Health Mission, Punjab. She replaces Ghanshyam Thori, who was holding the additional charge. She will continue to hold the additional charge of Chief Administrator, PUDA.
Another 2014-batch officer, Jaspreet Singh, who was serving as Director, Industries and Commerce, has been given the additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab Information and Communication Technology Corporation Limited (Punjab INFOTECH). He replaces Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, who was holding the additional charge.
Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar, IAS (2020 batch), who was serving as Director, Higher Education, Punjab and also holding the additional charge of Managing Director, Punjab INFOTECH, has now been posted as Director, Local Government, Punjab in place of Kulwant Singh.
Rubinderjit Singh Brar, IAS (2020 batch), presently Additional Chief Executive Officer, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, besides holding additional charges as Additional Secretary, NRI Affairs and Additional Secretary, Local Government, has been placed at the disposal of the Department of Industries and Commerce for posting as Managing Director, Punjab Small Industries Export Corporation and additionally Managing Director, Punjab State Industrial Development Corporation. He replaces Harpreet Singh Sudan, who was holding the additional charges. Rubinderjit Singh Brar will continue to hold the additional charge of Additional Secretary, Local Government.
The government has directed all officers concerned to join their new assignments immediately.
