The investigation into the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has revealed a suspected escape trail spanning Mumbai, Surat and Kota, with police arresting all three accused within hours of the attack in Juhu.
The incident took place on Sunday evening, October 18, when motorcycle-borne assailants allegedly opened fire at the actor’s car near Pushpa Narsee Park as he was returning after playing football. Shroff escaped unharmed, while his driver was reportedly injured.
According to the preliminary investigation, the accused had allegedly arrived in Mumbai around two weeks before the shooting and conducted reconnaissance near Shroff’s residence and gym. Investigators suspect they tracked his movements by monitoring locations he frequently visited, including information available through paparazzi videos and social media content.
The alleged escape route
After the firing, the three accused reportedly fled on a motorcycle before abandoning it near Andheri West railway station. They allegedly boarded a train towards Borivali and subsequently travelled by cab to Surat.
From Surat, they reportedly took a train towards Kota in Rajasthan, where police eventually apprehended them.
The Mumbai Crime Branch had deployed three to four teams at suspected locations as the search for the accused intensified. Kota Police later arrested the three men while they were travelling on a train, according to the police account.
Investigators suspect the accused intended to reach Delhi before attempting to escape to Nepal. However, they were arrested before they could reportedly carry out that plan.
Investigation into alleged planning
The preliminary findings suggest that the attack may have involved advance surveillance and a planned escape route. Investigators are examining the accused’s movements before and after the shooting, including their alleged reconnaissance of locations associated with the actor.
The suspected involvement of the Bishnoi gang has also been mentioned in the initial account, though the allegations remain subject to investigation.
The arrests mark a significant development in the case, with police continuing to investigate the alleged planning behind the attack and the circumstances surrounding the accused’s movements across states.
