An investigative report by Fox News Digital has identified 54 organisations and movements it says were involved in, supported or amplified protests in France, alleging links among communist and socialist groups, student organisations, labour unions, pro-Palestinian activists and international media outlets.
The report, which describes the network as “Chaos Inc.”, argues that the demonstrations have become part of a wider transnational movement connecting political activism across several continents. Its claims about coordination and organisational links have not been independently established in the material provided.
The report drew attention to a social media post by communist leader and academic Vijay Prashad, who wrote “Paris-New Delhi-Buenos Aires” on X while referring to the protest wave. He also quoted a line from British punk band The Clash: “Let fury have the hour, anger can be power”.
Fox News Digital highlighted Prashad’s role as executive director of Tricontinental Ltd., a nonprofit organisation it says is funded by American-born technology entrepreneur Neville Roy Singham, who lives in Shanghai.
According to the report, 16 of the 54 organisations identified are student or youth groups. The others include communist and revolutionary socialist organisations, political parties, trade unions, teachers’ federations, farmers’ groups and advocacy organisations. It also names two Muslim student or pro-Palestine organisations.
Among the groups discussed are the Yellow Vests movement and La France Insoumise (LFI), a left-wing political party. French Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu has accused LFI of “sowing chaos” and exploiting student and cost-of-living protests for electoral advantage ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The report alleges that some left-wing organisations helped expand protests initially associated with concerns about school conditions into demonstrations addressing capitalism, government austerity, policing and military expenditure.
It also points to an international coalition of 28 communist and socialist youth organisations that, according to Fox News Digital, is promoting coordinated student action across 12 European countries under the slogan “Fight for Our Future, Not Their Wars!”
The investigation further examines the role of Tricontinental, CodePink and BreakThrough News, which it associates with networks linked to Singham. It says BreakThrough News circulated footage of demonstrations in several French cities under the headline “ANTI-MACRON PROTESTS ROCK FRANCE”.
The report also refers to CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans discussing youth demonstrations in France, Spain and India during an interview while promoting a planned campaign in Washington against US military spending.
Another organisation named is Indian Alliance Paris, which the report says used social media to connect French and Indian protests and partnered with the Singham network’s People’s Forum for an event.
Fox News Digital said its “Who’s Who Guide to Chaos Inc. in France” maps organisations it believes contributed through protest participation, mobilisation, public solidarity or media coverage. The report’s characterisation of these groups as a coordinated network remains an allegation attributed to the outlet.
