Amritsar, September 25, 2026 (Yes Punjab News)
IndiGo will resume its nonstop Amritsar-Kolkata flight from October 1, restoring a direct air link between Punjab and West Bengal while also providing one-stop through connectivity between Amritsar and Guwahati via Kolkata.
The service from Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport, Amritsar, will operate three days a week — Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
According to the currently published schedule, flight 6E201 will depart Kolkata at 9:45 am and arrive in Amritsar at 12:25 pm.
The return flight, 6E6344, will leave Amritsar at 1:05 pm and reach Kolkata at 3:35 pm. The nonstop journey between Amritsar and Kolkata will thus take around two-and-a-half hours.
The restored service will also improve air connectivity between Punjab and Assam through Kolkata.
Flight 6E201 will originate from Guwahati at 7:50 am and arrive in Kolkata at 9:05 am. It will then leave Kolkata at 9:45 am for Amritsar, reaching the holy city at 12:25 pm.
In the opposite direction, flight 6E6344 will depart Amritsar at 1:05 pm and arrive in Kolkata at 3:35 pm. It will continue from Kolkata at 4:15 pm and reach Guwahati at 5:30 pm.
The arrangement will provide passengers travelling between Amritsar and Guwahati with a convenient one-stop through service via Kolkata under the same flight number, avoiding the need for longer connections through other aviation hubs.
The restoration of the Kolkata service is expected to benefit tourists, students, families and business travellers, besides members of the Punjabi and Sikh communities living in West Bengal and Assam.
It will also provide another travel option for devotees from the eastern and northeastern parts of the country visiting Amritsar to pay obeisance at Sri Darbar Sahib.
Kolkata had earlier been included among the Amritsar routes under Phase III of the UDAN regional connectivity scheme. The Amritsar-Kolkata service subsequently commenced on December 1, 2019.
