In a deeply tragic turn of events, Smiti Chaudhary, a senior Indian Police Service officer of the 2012 Haryana cadre, passed away early Friday morning in Nashik, Maharashtra, at the age of 48. She had been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness and breathed her last at 6:00 a.m. today.
At the time of her untimely passing, she was serving as Superintendent of Police (SP) in the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Ambala, where she was widely respected for her uncompromising stance against corruption and her sincere commitment to justice.

Her mother, Jayawanti Sheokand, is a senior IAS officer, and her brother, Yashendra, is also an officer of the Indian Administrative Service.
