It has been 25 years since the romantic television series Kasautii Zindagii Kay first premiered on October 29, 2001.
Marking the milestone, television producer Ektaa Kapoor shared a video featuring some memorable moments from the popular show on her official social media account. The show’s title track, “Kyunki Chahat Ke Safar Mein”, played in the background.
Ektaa also asked netizens whether she should use “Kyunki Chahat Ke Safar Mein” as the title for one of her upcoming projects.
In her Instagram post, she wrote, “25 years of the show the whole world connected to. 25 years of love! 25 years of Prerna …. The lover that everyone wanted! 25 years of Komolika … the vamp that no one forgot. 25 years of the original green flag Anurag. 25 years of the most angst-ridden lover, our very own George Clooney …. Rishab Bajaj. 25 years of a love story that no one forgot. Kyunki Chahat Ke Safar Mein ….. hey guys actually that could be a title!!! You think we should have a title like Chahat Ke Safar Mein? Tell me! (sic)”
Ektaa’s post took several social media users on a nostalgic trip, prompting fans to share their memories of the show and its characters.
One user commented, “Loved this show so so much! This pairing and everything about the show.”
Another wrote, “Shows will come and go but Kasautii will remain eternal always. @shweta.tiwari no one can replace her as Prerna, the OG always.”
A third fan urged Ektaa to bring the show back, describing it as a cherished part of their childhood.
“Please bring this serial back again. It is my childhood serial and I miss it a lot. Ekta mam, please, we used to go to other people’s houses to watch this serial because we didn’t have a TV at home back then. Now we have a TV at home, but this serial is not there. Those people are not there, Star Plus is there, and we’ve been watching every serial of Ekta mam since childhood,” the fan wrote.
The show’s 25th anniversary has once again highlighted its lasting place in viewers’ memories, with fans revisiting the love story and the characters that made Kasautii Zindagii Kay a memorable television favourite.
