Ms. Tarunpreet Kaur, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Microbiology, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has won the 2nd Best Poster Presentation Award at a National Symposium held on October 22–23, 2026, at ICAR-Central Potato Research Institute, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
She presented part of her Master’s research work through a poster titled “In vitro characterization of phenotypic and pathogenic variability of Mycogone perniciosa isolates” under the theme Frontiers in Mushroom Dynamics—Phylogenetics, Pathogenesis, and Mushroom Health. The research was conducted under the guidance of her advisors, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Food Microbiologist, and Dr. Yogita Bohra, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology.
Dr. Harvinder Singh Dhaliwal, Vice Chancellor of PAU; Dr. Kamal Vatta, Dean of the College of Basic Sciences and Humanities; and Dr. Urmila Gupta, Head of the Department of Microbiology, congratulated Ms. Kaur and her guide on this achievement and wished them success in their future endeavours.
