Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was left amused and visibly embarrassed when Madhuri Dixit brought back an old clip of him recreating her iconic “Ek Do Teen” dance moves during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.
The light-hearted moment unfolded during Madhuri’s appearance on the quiz show as part of Amitabh’s birthday celebrations. While recalling his own attempt at the popular dance step, the veteran actor admitted that he had once committed a “gustakhi” by trying to recreate the signature move.
Madhuri’s curiosity quickly turned into a surprise for Amitabh when she asked the team to play the footage.
The clip, from Amitabh’s 1989 film Toofan, showed the actor dressed in a woman’s avatar and attempting a comic version of the dance made famous by Madhuri in the song “Ek Do Teen”. He could be seen mimicking the characteristic waist movements while recreating the choreography.
Amitabh burst into laughter while watching his younger self on screen and poked fun at his own performance.
“Arey baap re… Kahan-kahan se yeh log nikal ke la rahe hain… Ek acche gaane ko kis tarah kharab kiya jaaye, woh idhar dekha aapne abhi,” he quipped.
The original “Ek Do Teen” featured Madhuri as Mohini in N. Chandra’s 1988 film Tezaab. Sung by Alka Yagnik and Amit Kumar and composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, the track went on to become one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic dance numbers, with choreography by Saroj Khan.
Madhuri appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 during Amitabh’s birthday week. She is also set to host the Marathi version of the quiz show, Kon Honaar Crorepati.
